Cherry Chocolate Bliss Balls

These little gems are part of my morning routine. I take them with me as a snack and sometimes have them if I want a sweet treat. These Cherry Chocolate Bliss Balls are a functional food, providing the body with a boost of energy and wholefood healing benefits.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup almonds finely ground - or almond meal
  • 2 tbsp dandy blend
  • 4 tbsp Organic cacao powder
  • 1-2 tbsp gelatinized maca
  • 1 pack Cordyceps
  • 1/2 cup dark cherries chopped, unsulphered, no added sugar
  • 1/2 cup organic chocolate chopped/chips
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 10 dates soaked
  • 1 tbsp date water
  • Pinch himalayan salt generous

Instructions

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a small mixing bowl; ground almond, dandy blend, cacao, maca, cordyceps, salt. Also, add the cherries and chocolate.
  • Place dates in a bowl. Pour boiling water over the dates to soften them up a bit. Once they are soft drain water but leave at least 1 tbsp of the water behind.
  • Measure out 1/2 of almond butter and add 2 tbsp of maple syrup to it.
  • Add the dates and the almond butter and maple syrup mixture to the dry ingredients. Incorporate well.
  • Form into 18-20 balls. You can let the mixture cool, or with wet clean hands form the mixture into balls.
